Apples and oranges. The President is elected by the people of the US, while the President of Gallaudet University is selected by the BOT, and largely in a vacuum and without influence from outside the Gallaudet Administration. So, besides the title of President, the two situations really aren't parallel at all.Dave Rnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28460968.post-1161027375650571582006-10-16T12:36:00.000-07:002006-10-16T12:36:00.000-07:00The vote carries just WHAT weight?IKJ has already ...The vote carries just WHAT weight?

IKJ has already stated his opinion, JKF has stated that she will not step down, BOT has further, and most recently, affirmed their decision and support.

As several people have done, in comparing this with the US Presidency. Groups opposed Bill Clinton for various reasons, likewise groups have opposed George W Bush. Historically, you can see that with EVERY presidency. The fact remains that even though impeached, and prodded by various protesting groups, Clinton stayed in office until the last day. The fact remains that despite the protests against the current administration, Bush has not, and will not leave office until January of 2009.

Let's stay with the topic, though, and not carry on a political debate. Those examples just parallel the current situation. Despite the vocal number of protesters, the answer keeps coming back "No". Don't mistake me for saying "give up", that's not my intention at all. If the answer is a persistant "No", then switch tactics. Work to improve the system.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
